Dear Coppergate Families,
Welcome back to an exciting 2022-2023 school year at Coppergate School of the Arts! The faculty and staff are thrilled you have entrusted your child’s education to us. Our goal is to create an enriching and creative learning environment that engages each child. Coppergate has an excellent faculty and support staff who work in a variety of capacities to support your child’s learning in both the academics and the arts. As the first educational experience in your child’s life, welcome your partnership in fostering an optimal teaching, learning and creative environment for all.
We encourage you to actively engage with the Colt Family through the School Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Parent Volunteer Organization (PVO). SAC meets monthly via Google Meets. It is a wonderful way for you to share ideas and support the mission of the school. The PVO is a great way to get involved in volunteering for various events and activities, chaperoning field trips, organizing classroom celebrations, etc. Additionally, we will offer a wide variety of parent/family engagement events throughout the year.
At CSA, we sincerely believe in a school environment that is collaborative in nature and draws on the strengths of all stakeholders. Working together makes a difference in the lives of our students. Our ultimate goal is to improve student outcomes and develop the whole child. I look forward to working with you all during this school year and many more to come. When Colts Connect, we are UNSTOPPABLE!
Sincerely,
Melissa G. Metz

Assistant Principal, Heather Devore
Dear Parents and Community Members,
It has been my pleasure to work as the assistant principal of Coppergate School of the Arts since the 2020-2021 school year. My passion for education and the success of all students has been shaped over my years serving as a teacher, reading coach, and assistant principal. In each role, I have sought to ensure the success of each student and school by providing the best educational opportunities possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at CSA that every student receives a well-rounded education.
Parents are a huge part of Coppergate’s success. Parent involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Parents are the best advocates for their children and I want to work with you to ensure your child has a successful school year. As we build upon existing relationships and forge new ones, let us collaboratively support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of each child at CSA. Through this teaming effort, we will make tremendous progress for all.
I look forward to the year ahead. Please feel free to contact me at (904) 336-0675 with any questions, suggestions, and/or concerns.
Sincerely,
Heather DeVore
